The Payroll Manager will oversee and manage all aspects of the of the payroll function ensuring timely processing with accuracy and in compliance with federal, multi-state, and local laws. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for ensuring compliance with all payroll related reporting for over 500 employees Manage the preparation and processing of multi-state and international payroll Responsible for the preparation of payroll reports for general ledgers, accruals, and any payroll re-classes that need to be provided to GL team Process hourly employees, commissions, bonuses and expense reimbursements through payroll Manage some of the accounting duties associated with payroll such as reconciliations and journal entries Audit time and absence, retroactive payments, bonuses, deductions, garnishments, levies, severance, and off-cycle payments as needed for terminations or other special payments Conduct Month/Quarter/Year End statistical payroll analysis, including balancing and auditing all tax filings and periodically audit payroll and benefit deductions to ensure and validate plans remain accurate and legally compliant Collaborate cross-functionally with HR and individual business units to establish and administer any new procedures relating to payroll administration Promote continuous quality improvements within the payroll department by reevaluating procedures and designing methods to improve efficiency and customer service Provide assistance and training to managers to ensure they understand time approval process, wage and hour laws, payroll policies, procedures and systems Maintain payroll and business information in a confidential manner QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources or similar 5-7 years' hands on payroll administration overseeing multi-state and global payroll administration for at least 500 employees Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) credential strongly preferred and extensive knowledge of Federal, State, and Local tax and wage & hour laws Working knowledge with Workday, ADP Workforce and Oracle 11i is strongly preferred Ability to manage payroll deadlines across multiple countries and develop best practices Strong accounting, reconciliation, and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail Microsoft Office proficiency in Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint with advanced level knowledge of Excel Demonstrated high level of confidentiality and discretion Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills Ability to exercise sound judgment, work independently and with minimal guidance Excellent organizational, analytical, time-management and multi-tasking skills Ability to thrive in an atmosphere of constant change and able to prioritize handle multiple assignments in a timely and flexible manner
