Javascript Architect/Front-End Developer needed for a HOT START-UP company - HTML, CSS, Javascript, AJAX, Consumer Web Applications, Web 2.0
Based in Palo Alto, CA, we are one of the most exciting start-up companies to hit the news. We are a well-funded company with a unique idea targeted towards the health services industry. We have exceptional leadership who have already built two other start-up companies from scratch and made them into success stories. Currently, we are looking to hire for extremely bright Javascript Architect/Sr. Front-End Developer that possesses experience developing Consumer Facing web applications skills to join our team. If you are strong with HTML, Javascript, CSS, and AJAX, we would love to have the opportunity to tell you more about our amazing opportunity.
We are willing to offer excellent compensation packages including a base salary that ranges between $80k-$130k, Bonuses, Benefits, and excellent Stock Options with an early stage start-up company where the stock actually means something. We are located in the heart of Downtown Palo Alto, a stones throw from the University Ave Caltrain stop.
Skills:
To apply for the front-end engineer position, you should have a passion for building great, intuitive user interfaces that will be used by millions of users. You understand the challenges involved in building such interfaces and have the drive and ability to take on those challenges. You are an expert in a wide range of front end technologies and have likely read books and articles on HTML markup, CSS, usability, design, color theory, and javascript. Ideally, you have also made yourself familiar with the server side technologies as you recognize that interaction with server plays an important role in AJAX technologies. You have a keen interest in Web 2.0 trends, APIs, mashups and other disruptive technologies. You know what it takes to build high performance websites that are compatible with multiple browsers and are SEO friendly.
Must Have Skills:
- BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar is REQUIRED. MS and above preferred. You should have a strong academic record ideally from a top school.
- Expertise in user interface development using HTML, CSS and Javascript/AJAX
- In-depth knowledge of browser architecture and internals
- Experience developing "consumer-facing" web applications
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience doing front-end development for Ruby on Rails applications is strongly preferred
- Strong visual design skills
- Experience with Photoshop and other design tools
- Experience in JSP is a strong plus
- Passion for the health space
- Experience developing user interfaces for mobile applications is a strong plus
