Assistant Preschool Teacher – 20-40 hours a week

We are seeking up to two permanent part-time or full-time Assistant Teachers for our small preschool of children age 2-5.
We are looking for dynamic teachers who enjoy working with young children, have a nurturing personality, and can work well with staff and parents.
This is a unique opportunity to get started in the Early Childhood Education field and mold young minds.

Position Specifics:
Engage with the children and create a friendly environment to foster emotional, intellectual, and social growth.
Support the Director with implementing engaging curriculum.
Support parents with their child’s transitions and with interacting with all children.
20-40 hours per week (specific hours to be discussed).
Eligible for promotion after one year or after graduation
Starts immediately!
Our School:
A small, play-based, parent-participation cooperative preschool program of about 24 children, which has been serving our community for 65 years.
School runs from 9:00 am to 5:45 pm, and follows the SFUSD calendar.
General Duties include:
Support with implementation of developmentally appropriate curriculum
Assist children with potty training and diapering
Prepare materials and resources for the children's activities
Support with classroom maintenance
Attend monthly cooperative parent meetings and fundraisers

ECE students accepted!
Must have a minimum of 12 core ECE units
Preferred applicants will have a Teacher Permit
Preferred applicants will have musical skill, or ability to play a musical instrument
Preferred applicants will have prior experience at a cooperative preschool and/or with parents in the classroom
Bilingual is a PLUS

All applicants must comply with CA State licensing requirements.
