Hello! We are both experienced math tutors offering tutoring up to Multi-variable Calculus/ Calculus 3.

Christabelle Pabalan:

Christabelle Pabalan is a full time student pursuing a Cognitive Science degree in order to develop technology that will prompt a greater understanding of the human brain and it's abnormalities. She has taken a vast amount of courses ranging from Biological Psychology to Multi-variable Calculus to Computer Science. In 2015, she had been granted the Psychology Student Year of the award along with the Mathematics Student of the Year award from Jefferson High School.

As for tutoring experience, Christabelle has over 7 years of tutoring experience and appreciates meeting new personalities and experiencing various learning styles. She seeks to create a spark of childlike thirst for knowledge and has been most humbled by experiencing those she's tutored develop an excitement they hadn't felt from a subject they've typically struggled with. She emphasizes how much it doesn't have to do so much with the student as it does that there is usually one teacher and thirty students with multiple learning styles.

In addition to her academic endeavors, Christabelle has dedicated a great deal of time active within her community as a youth leader, mentor, and tutor to her peers with emphasis on progression through balance and resiliency. She's consistently volunteered to lead fitness, mindfulness and creativity sessions for her community. Moreover, she has sought out to raise social awareness on the issues that immediately surround her environment. Several ways she's achieved this include presenting to the Jefferson Union High School District and the City of Pacifica Council to pass the Social Host Ordinance and raise awareness for youth substance abuse, leading an Anti-Bullying campaign to minimize the abuse that students often face within a school environment, and vocalizing the errant stigmas surrounding mental illnesses through spoken word performances. Some of her favorite after hour activities include dancing, working out, reading, writing, hiking, memorizing quirky facts, and getting out of her comfort zone.

Victor Nazlukhanyan:

My name is Victor Nazlukhanyan and I am a full-time student pursuing a degree in Cognitive Science, with an emphasis on Neural Networks and Machine Learning, in an effort to better understand the brain from an analytical perspective. During my lower-division coursework for my major, I have taken a number of courses in mathematics, such as Multivariable Calculus and Linear Algebra.

I have worked as a tutor in math for over half a decade, and have had the opportunity to meet a range of personalities and styles of learning, and always gear my tutoring to accommodate the variety of learning styles students tend to lean towards, whether that's a visual, verbal, or a kinesthetic approach. I have tutored students ranging from elementary school from past positions as an after-school tutor, to private middle-school student sessions, up to high-school and college-level students.

In addition to this, I have worked as a Mathematics Supplemental Instructor for Skyline College from August 2016 to May 2017, and have had the pleasure of tutoring math subjects such as algebra, trigonometry, and calculus to high-school and college level students as they attended hour-long sessions I created and hosted through my training in creative tutoring strategies. I employed engaging activities, games, and problem sets during the sessions to visually teach the students about the material, as well as make the lessons interesting and relevant.

I always utilize the same approach to all positions I tutor, engaging the student to see how what they are learning is relevant and interesting, and teach the material by breaking it down into manageable and clear steps that can be easily followed.

I am extremely excited to provide the very best tutoring for your student, and can't wait to see them improve along the way.
