Minimum Qualifications: Completion of 12 semester units in Early Childhood Education, including Core* units, plus 6 months experience, OR Completion of 12 semester units in any area of the following: Recreation, Physical Education, Human Services, Social Welfare, Nursing, Psychology, Sociology, Home Economics, ECE, Child Development or School Age classes, plus 6 months experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Any combination of education and experiences equivalent to graduation from a four:year college with a major in Child Development or related field (Recreation, Physical Education, Human Services, Social Welfare, Nursing, Psychology, Sociology, Home Economics) is preferred.
*Core Units Child Development; Child, Family, Community;
Under general direction, supervises children to promote their physical, cognitive and social development. Responsible for on:floor program participation with children. Assures ongoing, age:appropriate activities and development of children. Implements the curriculum and, with active participation of other members of the teaching team, works with parents and assesses the development of each child. Provides a safe environment for children at all times.
