Job DescriptionSchuchart/Dow General Carpenters have advanced carpentry skills and experience, a desire to work hard with a team of highly talented craftsmen and the ability to take on progressively more responsibility. Candidates will show an aptitude for precision, a passion for troubleshooting unique build requirements and the ability to easily absorb and demonstrate new skills. RESPONSIBILITIESEnsure work performed is in accordance with plans and specificationsFoster a positive and constructive environment onsiteStrive to continually learn and develop new skills and capabilitiesEstablish and maintain quality control for all phases of constructionMaximize materials in order to prevent waste and stay within project budgetProvide mentoring and training to apprentice carpenters and laborers when directedWork with superintendent/foreman to ensure the project is ready for subcontractors each dayBe a positive advocate for safety in action and attitude; reinforce awareness to reduce the risk of injury or citationsMaintain job site security (ie ensure safety of all people, tools and materials) MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS4+ years of high-end residential carpentry experiencePossess the following skills:Broad range of carpentry skills from framing to finish workExperience with framing layout; rough framing of walls, floors and roof systems; calculating roof rafters; layout and framing of stairs, windows and doorsWork with full complement of basic tools and specialty toolsLay out and set concrete formsRead and interpret architectural drawingsWork at elevated heights and in confined spacesEstimate materials and time needed to perform workFamiliarity with a variety of building materialsDemonstrate knowledge of safety and health procedures for location; be a positive advocate for onsite safetyDemonstrate knowledge of proper use of tools and equipmentExcellent communication, team-building and mentoring skillsAble to anticipate and troubleshoot problemsAbility to follow direction and perform work as designatedMotivated, dependable and trustworthyBENEFITS PACKAGE100% paid Medical and Basic Life InsuranceCost-shared, affordable Dental and Vision coverageEducation Reimbursement ProgramPaid HolidaysPaid Time Off401(k) retirement savings plan with employer profit sharing contributions We are a fun, easygoing bunch of professionals who take a lot of pride in the work we do.
